Why is good attendance important?
Statistics show a direct link between under-achievement and poor attendance.
Regular attenders make better progress, both socially and academically.
Regular attenders find school routines and school work easier to cope with.
Regular attenders find learning more satisfying.
Regular attenders have an easier transfer to Key Stage 2 and then secondary school.
Arranging dental and doctors' appointments out of school hours or during the school holidays.
Ringing or texting on the first morning of all absences with the reason and saying when your child will return.
Sending in a note explaining the reason for absence on your child's return to school after an illness.
Keeping us updated by telephone or letter if your child has an extended period of absence due to illness.
Providing evidence of appointments such as appointment cards, emails, texts and letters.
We cannot authorise holidays during term time. Absence taken and not authorised could be liable for a fixed penalty fine.
If your child suffers from a long term illness or condition please talk to Jeanette so that we can complete a health care plan together.
We value you continued support in helping us to maintain high standards.
Everybody in school every day.
The best start in life for all our children.
As a result of the above, we award medals to children who have excellent attendance.
The children have shared with us at their "Children's Voice" circle times (Time to Talk) that they want to continue with receiving medals and certificates, for good attendance, but would like to receive more rewards.
As a school we want children to be motivated to learn, and research shows that receiving rewards can actually affect motivation.
To support the Children's Voice we have agreed to certificates for kindness at our special assembly. Parents are invited to attend these assemblies.

Please be on time everyday. This helps your child form good life habits for the future. Occasionally lateness may be due to an event beyond your control. However in general being late should be avoided for the following reasons:
Children who are late:
Also lateness means one of our Learning Assistants misses valuable time supporting our children to meet your child and take them into class.
If you are late more than twice a supportive meeting takes place with Adrienne Barrell, Co-Headteacher.
If lateness is considered to be affecting your child's learning and development, the
London Borough of Enfield's Educational Welfare Officer, will offer further support in order for your child to arrive on time.
