The best start in life for all our children.

Physical Education (P.E.)

PE

At Carterhatch we recognise the importance and benefits that physical activity has not only on overall physical health, growth and development but also the contribution and positive impact it has on mental health. We believe that well planned, high-quality physical education allows our children to have fun, reduce stress, improve concentration in the classroom and provide opportunities for all to exceed. We deliver an inclusive and progressive PE curriculum throughout the school. Year 1 and year 2 take part in two hours of curriculum PE weekly. In nursery and reception, physical education is delivered through the continuous access of the outdoor environment and equipment. Staff enable children to take risks, develop their fine and gross motor control and basic skills in a positive, relevant way. This lays the foundations for children to continue their physical development in key stage 1.
