The best start in life for all our children.
Admissions - (please see link below to apply online)
At Carterhatch Infant School we have a wonderful Nursery offering 76 places. We are able to admit a limited number of 30 hour full time places to parents who are eligible, who are registered with HMRC and can provide the school with the required code.
Part time Nursery children are offered either morning or afternoons. If a child attends our 30 hour Nursery provision, the hours are 8am - 3.30pm; this includes breakfast club, a mid-morning and afternoon snack and a school meal at lunch time. There is an additional charge for the full time provision of £60 per week.
Admissions for the start of Nursery, the start of Reception and any admissions at other times of the year are all co-ordinated by Enfield Local Authority School Admission Service.
Information about the Admission Service is available on the council website at
https://www.eadmissions.org.uk/
Admission for Nursery and Reception are mainly carried out online and we offer sessions to help you complete these forms if necessary.
Please note that you must apply again for a Reception place, even if your child is currently attending Carterhatch Infant School Nursery. Year Two will need to apply for a Junior School place.
Most children begin Nursery in the September when they have already turned 3 years old and join Reception in the September when they are already 4 years old.
Children born from 1 April to 31 August – known as summer born children – do not need to start school until the September after their fifth birthday, a year after they could first have started school.
A parent may request their summer born child is admitted out of their normal age group at this point – to reception rather than year 1. Although we would encourage parents to discuss this with us before making any decision there is guidance from the Department for Education for Summer born children available here.
