At Carterhatch Infant School we have a wonderful nursery offering 76 places. We are able to admit a limited number of 30 hour full-time places to parents who are eligible, who are registered with HMRC and can provide the school with the required code.

Admissions for the start of nursery, the start of reception and any admissions at other times of the year are all co-ordinated by Enfield Local Authority School Admission Service.

Please note that you must apply again for a reception place, even if your child is currently attending Carterhatch Infant School nursery. Year two will need to apply for a junior school place. 

If your child was born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, you will be applying for them to start a nursery class in September 2025.

If your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021, you will be applying for them to start in Reception in September 2025.

Children born from 1 April to 31 August – known as summer-born children – do not need to start school until the September after their fifth birthday, a year after they could first have started school.

A parent may request their summer born child be admitted out of their normal age group at this point – to reception rather than year 1. Although we would encourage parents to discuss this with us before making any decision, there is guidance from the Department for Education for summer-born children available here.
